Late payments hurt cash flow, and chasing customers one by one takes time nobody has. Most teams know they should send reminders consistently, but in practice it gets forgotten until the invoice is weeks overdue.
With the Odoo Vibe-Coding Platform, we added automatic overdue reminders to Odoo by describing the feature in plain English.
The prompt
When a customer invoice is overdue, automatically send the customer a polite reminder email every day with the invoice number, amount due and due date. Don’t send more than one reminder every 7 days for the same invoice. Add a “Send Reminder” button on the invoice so I can send it manually, and show the last reminder date on the invoice.
What the AI agent built
- Daily automatic check: A scheduled job runs every day and finds customer invoices that are unpaid and past their due date.
- Polite reminder email: Each customer gets a clear email with the invoice number, the amount due, and the due date.
- No spamming: The same invoice gets at most one reminder every 7 days.
- Send Reminder button: On any unpaid, overdue invoice, your team can send a reminder instantly.
- Last Reminder date: Shown right on the invoice, so everyone knows when the customer was last contacted.
Tested before hand-over
The agent verified everything on its own: the scheduled job was active, the button and field appeared on the invoice, a test overdue invoice received its reminder with the correct details, and the 7-day rule worked as expected. It also adapted to changes in Odoo 19 along the way, then cleaned up all its test data.
