Hong Kong held its first official n8n meetup in February 2026, hosted by Compass Offices at Lee Garden Two in Causeway Bay. We were there.
What happened
Dean Pike, the n8n ambassador for Hong Kong and founder of TidyCurve, ran the session. He gave an overview of the platform and then built and demonstrated an AI agent live, which is a more honest way to show a tool than a slide deck.
Over fifty people came, and the mix was the interesting part: founders, developers, product managers, AI builders, and people who had never automated anything before. Not a room full of specialists.
Why it matters that this was the first one
n8n has been around since 2019 and is widely used elsewhere. Hong Kong only got an official community meetup this year. That gap says something about how automation adoption works here: companies have been buying tools for a while, but the community around them is only now forming.
A local community matters more than it sounds. When something breaks at eleven at night, the difference between finding someone who has hit the same problem and working it out alone is a week of your life.
Where we use n8n
We build production n8n workflows for clients, mostly connecting Odoo to the other systems a business runs: e-commerce platforms, messaging channels, accounting, scheduled data updates. Our n8n page covers what we have built.
The pattern we see most often is not glamorous. Someone spends four hours a week moving data between two systems by hand. That is five working weeks a year, doing something a workflow can do in seconds, and getting it wrong occasionally because people do.
Community events are worth the evening
Fifty people in a room comparing notes on what actually worked is a better source of information than any vendor page, including ours.
