They are ordered roughly by how quickly they pay for themselves.<\/p>\n
What it does.<\/strong> You upload or email a scanned supplier invoice. Odoo extracts the vendor, dates, amounts, taxes and line items, and creates a draft bill.<\/p>\n Why it pays first.<\/strong> It is high volume, dull, and instantly verifiable. A company processing two hundred bills a month is spending real hours on typing that mostly disappears.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Compare the draft against the document before posting. Extraction is good, not perfect \u2014 and totals, tax codes and dates are worth a specific glance.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Links an incoming bill to the purchase order and receipt it belongs to, and flags where the three do not agree.<\/p>\n Why it matters.<\/strong> The three-way match \u2014 order, receipt, bill \u2014 is the most useful control in purchasing. Doing it manually is why it often does not get done.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Investigate every flagged mismatch. That is the point of it.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Generates descriptions from product attributes, in your tone, at whatever length you need.<\/p>\n Why it pays.<\/strong> A catalogue of several thousand products is otherwise weeks of writing.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Read before publishing. Generated text is fluent, which is not the same as accurate \u2014 specifications in particular need verifying.<\/p>\n FIGURE 1: THE THREE THAT PAY BACK FASTEST<\/p>\n Reading vendor bills<\/p>\n Matching to purchase orders<\/p>\n Drafting descriptions<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Condenses a long record \u2014 email threads, past orders, open tickets \u2014 into something readable in a minute.<\/p>\n Where it helps.<\/strong> Before a sales call. When a support agent picks up a ticket somebody else was handling. When a colleague is on leave.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Open the underlying records before anything consequential. A summary is orientation, not evidence.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Suggests a reply based on the thread and the customer’s record.<\/p>\n Why it pays.<\/strong> Routine replies \u2014 order status, availability, standard questions \u2014 are a large share of most inboxes.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Read every one before sending. This is customer-facing, so the bar is higher.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Scores opportunities by likelihood to close, based on your own history of won and lost deals.<\/p>\n The honest caveat.<\/strong> It needs enough closed deals to learn from. A few hundred is thin. If you close twenty deals a year, the score is a guess with a confident interface.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Use it to order your attention, not to decide which deals to abandon.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Predicts which invoices are likely to be paid late, so chasing effort goes where it matters.<\/p>\n Why it pays.<\/strong> Most companies chase in date order. Chasing in likelihood order collects the same money sooner.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> A prediction is not a reason to treat a customer differently in tone. Judgement stays with your team.<\/p>\n FIGURE 2: WHERE THE HUMAN CHECK BELONGS<\/p>\n Anything financial<\/p>\n Anything a customer sees<\/p>\n Predictions and scores<\/p>\n Summaries<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Notices transactions that do not look like your normal pattern \u2014 a duplicate bill, an unusual amount, an odd vendor.<\/p>\n Why it matters.<\/strong> Catches errors and occasionally worse, before payment rather than after.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Expect false positives early while it learns what normal looks like for you. Do not switch it off because of them \u2014 that is the learning period.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Lets you ask in plain language \u2014 “which customers have grown most this year” \u2014 instead of commissioning a report.<\/p>\n Where it helps.<\/strong> The one-off questions that are not worth building a report for.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Verify anything you will act on. Unlike a report you designed, you may not know how the number was reached.<\/p>\n What it does.<\/strong> Predicts what you will need, from your sales history and seasonality.<\/p>\n The honest caveat.<\/strong> It works with years of clean data and reasonably stable demand. On new products, short history or volatile markets, it produces confident numbers with no real basis.<\/p>\n The check.<\/strong> Treat it as one input to your reordering decision, not as the decision.<\/p>\n Read back through and something is consistent.<\/p>\n The ones that pay fastest are repetitive, high volume, and easy to verify.<\/strong> Reading bills. Matching documents. Drafting text.<\/p>\n The ones needing most caution are predictive.<\/strong> They depend entirely on how much clean history you have, and they are hard to check because there is no right answer to compare against until later.<\/p>\n FIGURE 3: TWO WAYS TO ADOPT THIS LIST<\/p>\n What works<\/p>\n What goes wrong<\/p>\n Three things, in this order.<\/p>\n Fix your data.<\/strong> Duplicate customers, wrong product costs, inconsistent units. AI amplifies whatever is there. This is the single biggest predictor of whether any of the above works.<\/p>\n Measure a baseline.<\/strong> How many hours does bill entry take now? How long is your collection cycle? Without a number, you cannot tell whether anything improved.<\/p>\n Decide where humans stay.<\/strong> Write it down. Anything financial, anything customer-facing. Then do not quietly erode it because the demo was impressive.<\/p>\n Ten uses, and they divide cleanly.<\/p>\n Adopt now:<\/strong> reading documents, matching them, drafting text, summarising records.<\/p>\n Pilot with care:<\/strong> scoring, prediction, forecasting.<\/p>\n Everywhere:<\/strong> keep the person who checks.<\/p>\n The value is real, and it is more mundane than the marketing.
